RadarOnline reports that Karex, the world’s largest condom manufacturer making more than 5 billion condoms a year and supplying brands like Durex and Trojan as well as Britain’s NHS and U.N. programs, says costs are surging. CEO Goh Miah Kiat told outlets the situation is “definitely very fragile” and that rising prices for key materials — including synthetic rubber and nitrile — plus shipping hold-ups mean the company “have no choice but to transfer the costs right now to the customers.” Karex warned prices could rise by as much as 30%.
